What is covered under Medicare Part B. This is essentially a brief overview of California medicare coverage for eligible consumers who have enrolled in this part of Medicare. This is not the same as being part of Medicare Advantage and separate from having a medicare supplement plan.
Physician services are covered which is an important part of Medicare Part B. The actual hospital stay is covered under Medicare Part A but unless you have Part B then you will be responsible for any charges payable to the physician who performed services on you but if you have Part B then you will be liable for only 20 percent of reasonsable costs unless you have a supplemental medigap plan.
Home health care is covered under Medicare Part B as are necessary and reasonable intermittent skilled nursing care. Also covered is is durable medical equipment. This care is often critical to a full recovery that includes occupational and physical therapy and/or speech pathology.
Many crucial tests are covered under Medicare Part B such as MRI's, CT scans, X-rays and EKG's along with other relevant tests deemed necessary for the medical issue.
A major benefit of Medicare Part B is that it will cover dialysis in a medical facility or even at home. Part B also will even cover further action such as a covered transplant surgeries including kidney, pacreas, intestine, liver and even the heart. Immunosuppressive drugs are also included.
Part B will also include preventitive services such as cardiovascular and diabetes screenings, flu shots, glaucoma tests, mammogram screenings, pap smears and prostate cancer screenings.
