Great news for San Diego consumers looking to gain access to information and quotes for the new Covered California Marketplace. Just click on the Covered California tab on top which will take you to a page that will allow you to enter in personal information of your family plus your 2012 annual income in order to determine subsidy qualification through the Marketplace.
In addition feel free to give specific requests for coverage and cost parameters so we can give you a thorough recommendation. Our office will evaluate your options both inside and outside of the Covered California Exchange and advise on the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing coverage from one of the options. We will also advise on tax penalties if so interested since we will be certified to represent all plans.
Carriers represented with be those who participate in the Covered California Marketplace and even those who don't at this time including Cigna and others. As it stands right now it looks like carriers offering coverage through Covered California may offer reduced rates than plans outside the Marketplace but with more limited networks. It is our responsbility to advise our clients and consumers about the tradeoffs among the many choices going forward.
Once certified sometime in August of 2013 for Covered California, we hope there will be an online link to apply for coverage although nothing has been confirmed. That being said, our office will be able to help with paper applications or even online enrollment so a professional can make sure you get exactly what you want at no extra cost.
