Every state across the United States has personalized health insurance plans. Essentially they are about the same nationwide, with a few differences. California, for instance, has available several health insurance companies which are as follows:
Aetna Life Insurance Company, Aetna Health Insurance of California, United Health Insurance Co., Delta Dental, Anthem Blue Cross Life and Health, PacifiCare of California, California Physicians' Care Service, Net Health of California, and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan.
If one does not have a good health insurance plan, and something was to happen to you and your family, you could lose everything you own. While health insurance plans are expensive these days it would be much more expensive for the person without health insurance should a catastrophic event happen. Most people have medical insurance through their employer, known as group health insurance. The problem is with so many people out of work for one reason or another; they no doubt lost their insurance when they lost their job. Very few Americans can afford Cobra. If they have not been able to find another source of income, then they probably do not have health insurance, because who can pay for it. This leads us to the Obama Health Care Plan, of which some of it has already taken effect, and the rest will not take effect until 2014.
The debate on the pros and cons of the nationwide health insurance plan has been in full force for months and is heating up. Questions are constantly asked to provide people with this plan in a nutshell. Since the stack of paperwork explaining this new health care plan is only approximately four feet high, it is reasonable to say an explanation is certainly not going to fit in a nutshell. This, from what has been said, is a conglomeration of twists and turns that are difficult for even the politicians to understand.
Popular news media's are saying that this new health care plan is perfect, and everyone is going to be a winner. This is a hard concept to swallow especially since we do not live in a perfect world where the people are perfect, including the government, and the President of the United States. Where there are people there are always going to be mistakes, misconception, deception, greed, mistrust, lies, and flaws. And, this new health care plan is no exception. People are not perfect and neither are their plans for a better society that so desperately needs a better health care system. Certain media are going to fully support this new health care plan because some of these media support Obama. Like the new, old saying goes, "Don't trust anything you read or hear, and half of what you see."
When committees are set up to formulate and evaluate annually cost effective treatments and they tell the doctors how they can treat their patients it makes no sense. Many of the people setting this health care plan is action has no medical background. They have gone too far when they tell the doctors how they can or cannot treat. Are people going to be told who and who cannot be insured? There are apparently going to be stiff penalties for not being insured with a health insurance, much in the same way as it is mandatory to have automobile insurance. With so many people out of work and homeless, how does the government think they will come up with penalty money for having no insurance or money for premium payments?
Penalties for individuals will be the following starting in 2014 of 95.00 dollars or 1% of modified gross income whichever is greater. The following year the penalty will rise to 395.00 or 2% whichever is higher and then in 2016 of 595.00 or 2.5%. Our staff will be updating additional information on penalties including for families or households which will obviously be higher if married or with children.
One can risk going to jail for no car insurance. Are we going to be at risk for jail time if we have no health insurance? This does not sound like a democracy. One good thing is that apparently this bill would not permit private insurance companies from denying insurance to a person with a pre-existing condition, considering them high risk. Many understand that if you are employed and all of a sudden you lose your employment, you can still keep your health insurance coverage under Obama Care, but if you cannot find a job how are you going to pay to pay for it?
While many are excited about a national health care plan there are equally or more who are less than thrilled with this new health care system. Seniors on Social Security and those on Social Security Disability are especially worried. All the income that many seniors have is Social Security. They will not be able to live if this is greatly decreased or is taken away. A health care plan will be the lesser of their worries.
Are we going to have a health care plan similar to Canada? Why are so many from Canada coming into the United States for health care. It has been said that the wait for health care is too long. There are flaws after all, and probably a whole lot more.
From what many people nationwide are seeing is doom and gloom for insurance companies like the one's listed in California, people in general, hospitals and the doctors. Many doctors are speaking about pulling out of their careers because of this new health care plan. Is America headed toward being one of the third world countries? Only time can tell if the new Obama Health Care Plan does what it says it will do.
